1) "nub" the most annoying of the "noob" line
2) "REZ" and its variations "REZ NOW", "rez me idiot monk" "rez rez rez"
3) its variation "HEAL", I can see your health bar thanks :S

"ppls". First, people is ALREADY plural. And second, it reminds me too much of Pennsylvania Power and Light and how much I have to pay on my electric bill.

Seeing this word makes me wish I could use my weapons in the outposts.

Only played through one character with PUGs, the rest have henched it through the game...but...I'd have to say "You're playing a X/X, omg noob, you need to use this and this, not that and that, oh and completely change your skillbar for me!" Sometimes they did have a wierd skillbar and said thanks for the help afterwards, but almost 90% of the time, this person had been playing that character for quite a long time and actually knew what the hell they were doing, whereas the "change for me" person, typically has never played that skillset he just told and he only said it because he got it from the build section of this forum...

the word 'Godly' when describing something to be sold. No weapon on this game is 'Godly', its one of the things Anet were trying to distance themselves from when making this game; no weapon should solely make a player much better than any other

I hate all variations of the word noob.

Most of all though I am depressed and frightened by the spelling and grammar used in the game.

I'm bothered because I worry how these people will survive. It doesn't particularly matter if their characters survive a run-in with a hydra. But surviving in the real world will be an enormous problem -- many of them aren't dumb, they just sound dumb. That will be enough, unfortunately, to keep them out of the best jobs and schools.

This comment is directed at native English speakers. For those who aren't ... heck, they have my admiration for communicating at all.

And at first I thought that those with bad grammar and communication skills were mostly from places where English isn't spoken. But most often, when I talk to some of the worst cases, I find that they are - in theory at least - native English speakers.

I love all those words, and if you let words bother you then it's really your own problem not the problem of the deliverer. I laugh and laugh when people get upset because someone called them a name. It's utterly rediculous to get so uptight and upset and let words bother you. The only words I fear are from the tax collectors from the IRS. (In terminator voice) We come to take your house, we'll be bauck. lol

"n00b" seems over used in GW, specially in Competition Arena with those warrior characters.

I only use "gg" in public to show my appreciation to the other team for their level of playing regardless win or lose, if there is no such "n00b" calling from the other team.

I've actually been kicked out of a Tombs group before for not knowing that, somehow, 'sbvent' stood for 'server.gw-vent.com'.

While I frequent that Ventrilo server, how am I supposed to know one person's random abriviations for everything?

Everyone has to have their own abriviations, and those are what I don't like. 'u can play teh BP Monk?!?!' 'A gas station monk???'

I thought that it was "PROPER" English.

Anyway, this is a dumb thread. Most of those abbreviations exist because it takes too long to type them while multitasking the game. Why would you keep typing "Looking For Group" 20 times to find a group when all you have to do is type "LFG". Virtually almost everyone knows what it is in the game.

The 'n00b" comment is an entirely different story.

Hell the phrase I hate the most is "in english please" after it was properly stated. That goes to show you that even if it was right the first time the teeny bopers in game who have 3rd grade english skills can't even read the real thing.

Is anyone else confused by the "<3" ? I thought it was supposed to be a heart, as in "I <3 guildwarsguru"??

Anyway, i'd just like to get rid of the smack-talking idiots ... example:

In CA yesterday, 2 of my team quit before the match even started. It was me (ranger) and a mesmer vs. a bonder, 2 tanks, and a necro. We (somehow) managed to last 2:30, and then died. The RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOy monk said "That was pathetic. noobs." So I whisper the $^%#* and say "Hey, we didn't do too bad for only 2 people", "Flawless victory wasn't bad? I'd hate to see bad ... noob." -player jerky monk is ignoring you- ...

I suppose it's just that the internet lets you say things that you would never say face-to-face to a person, for fear of getting your teeth knocked out ... oh well. My grandfather always said: "Rudeness is a small person's form of power", which I have always believed. *sigh*

Can't say i'm eager to join the ranks of "OMG pwnzord j00 n00b!!!!oneone!!!shiftone!!1!11!1!!"
